ABOUT
Her Journey is a Comprehensive Maternal Health Support System. Our goal is to improve maternal health and well being worldwide! We accomplish this through programming and services that increase the connection between maternal physical health and emotional wellness. Through Her Journey, we are building a community of support for people from all walks of life that are on diverse reproductive journeys.
The standards for reproductive care in our world have come a long way, but there is much more that needs to be done. Maternal Morbidity and Mortality rates are still unacceptably high for Black women, and there are many needs that our current healthcare landscape does not meet when it comes to birthing and postpartum people. There are gaping voids in the experienced reproductive journey that Her Journey is positioned to fill.
Her Journey functions in the realms of education, advocacy, information, empowerment and support as they relate to those navigating from pre-conception through the first year postpartum. Programming and services are offered through individual consultations, workshops, "Empowered" Doula groups and private birth and postpartum doula service.

Birth Planning Session
Get a customized Birth Plan for your Journey!! This is a great tool for setting your birth preferences and identifying your values in the birth space. This is a virtual, one on one session. Spouses/Partners are welcome! You will receive an official template of your plan upon session completion. For either vaginal or C Section delivery (please specify your mode of delivery when booking). 60 Minute Session
Journey Session (Doula Prenatal/Postpartum Session)
This is an a la carte Birth or Postpartum Doula Session. Get all of the education, empowerment, advocacy, support and resources you need on an as needed basis. This is a perfect session if you want to experience doula services on a trial basis or do not want the full commitment of a private doula. Journey sessions are virtual and one on one. Spouses/Partners are welcome! Please specify for Birth or Postpartum along with how many weeks/months you are when booking. 60 Minute session
30 Minute Mini Journey Session (Doula Prenatal/Postpartum Session)
Short on time? Well, this is the session for you! Book this 30 Minute Doula session when life is on the go! This is a virtual, one on one session. Spouses/Partners are welcome!! Please specify for Birth or Postpartum along with how many weeks/months you are when booking. 30 Minute Session
"Presence" Consult
Prenatal and postpartum care visits with your healthcare provider can be overwhelming at times. There is a sea of information that requires help navigating. The Presence Consult is the first step in scheduling a Doula Office Visit where Dorian will attend a prenatal care visit with you virtually. With Dorian, you will have a Doula and OB/GYN Nurse Practitioner by your side to help you advocate for yourself and better understand the course of your pregnancy journey. Studies have shown that better care is received in healthcare settings when you attend visits with a companion. Schedule your Consult today! This service is based on availability. "Birth Control" Session (Birth Empowerment and Education Session/Pre-Birth Prep)
While birth cannot be controlled, how you enter into the birth space can! This is a one on one, virtual session geared to educate, inform and affirm you as you are preparing for birth. This is not a Childbirth Education Class. Birth Control Sessions focus on identifying expectations, confidence building, self advocacy, and affirmation. This session is ideal if you want to strengthen your foundation in any of these areas! Spouses/Partners are welcome! Postpartum Planning Session
If you have a plan for birth, you need a plan for postpartum as well! This virtual, one on one session will help you in setting postpartum expectations, identifying needs, and organizing care/support. Work return planning is included with this session. You will receive an official template of your plan upon session completion. Spouses/Partners are welcome! 60 Minute Session
Topic Specific Education, Advocacy and Empowerment Session
This session is perfect if you are in need of more in depth information on a particular topic that has come up along your journey or if you need empowerment and self advocacy tips in a particular area. This consult is virtual and one on one. Spouses/Partners are welcome! 60 Minute Session
